Digital TV Transitioin Delay Is Voted Down By House

The whole Digital TV transition has been somewhat of a fiasco. Although, they keep trying numerous ways of informing people of the switch, there’s millions of people who still aren’t ready. These aren’t exact figures mind you, but many analysts predict those kind of numbers when the switch takes place.

Therefore, it was thought that there would be another delay in making the transition. It appears that this won’t happen, as the delay was voted down in the House of Representatives. In order of a bill like this to pass, you need two-thirds vote which they didn’t get. The bill was defeated with 258-168, with the majority voting for the bill.

Why the members of the House really care about making the switch to DTV is a mystery. Perhaps, they really want America to catch up in terms of television viewing technology.
