Sign Of The Apocalypse: 09/30/08 - 666 Edition

Today’s Sign Of The Apocalypse is credited to SFGate.

I’m not sure how it happened. I’ve gone aslong as I have doing the ‘Signs Of The Apocalypse’, and this is the first time the number 666 has popped up. With 666 being synonymous with the end of the world, it’s a surprise this is its first appearance.

Apparently there those out there who either A.) Scared of the number 666, or B.) Love the number 666 and are trying to start a collection. Whoever is responsible is really irritating the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. There is a mile marker on the road whose number is 66.6. They continually have to keep replacing the sign, as it gets stolen on a regular basis. The culprits haven’t been caught, so no one knows who is pulling off the caper.

If you think this is a lone incident, you’re wrong. There have been numerous accounts all across the country of Route 666’s having their signs stolen. Is it the actions of a malicious, Satan driven cult? Or are do these people really think that the sign makes it a Highway to Hell? Either way it’s a sign that maybe we’re on a highway to the fiery pit.
