Sign Of The Apocalypse: 08/27/08

For anyone that has their copy of the Nun of the Month calendar, today’s Sign is good news. Apparently an Italian priest by the name of Rev. Antonio Rungi is tired of the stereotypes placed on nuns of the Catholic Church. He believes that the stereotype that nuns are old, wrinkly, and soft spoken is just wrong. Fair enough Rev. Rungi.

He plans on battling this stereotype by releasing a blog dedicated to nuns. Again, fair enough. The blog is to be titled “Miss Sister 2008″. Wait a minute Rev. Rungi, where are you going with this? Oh yes, it’s exactly where you think it’s going. Rungi is planning on using the blog to show off some of the best looking nuns in the service. Rungi backs up his site with this, “Nuns are a bit excluded, they are a bit marginalized in ecclesiastical life…This will be an occasion to make their contribution more visible”

To be fair, he states that the nuns won’t be shown in bathing suits or anything like that. The site will just be a means to show people that nuns can have outwardly beauty along with inner beauty. Of course, calling it “Miss Sister 2008″ doesn’t really provide much credibility.
