We Finally Conquered The Jet Pack
When I say “we” conquered the jet pack, I really mean that another human being has finally created one. Glenn Martin is the man who is behind the genius of what I consider to be the first jet pack. The FAA has just deemed it an ultralight airplane, but phooey on them, it’s a jet pack. The Martin jetpack was officially shown off yesterday at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture.
The unveiling was a success, so now Martin is working on a way to sell his invention commercially. Preliminary estimates from Martin are that the jetpack will cost around $100,000. So if I ever become rich enough, this is definitely one of the silly things I’d blow it on. Although there have been some jet pack like devices that have been successful, none have been able to stay up in the air aslong as Martin’s. Which is a whopping 30 minutes of air time.
Have your say
