Wal-Mart Is Making A Big Push For Blu-Ray
Blu-Ray may have won the format battle with HD-DVD, but the war is far from over. While the most evident opponent to Blu-Ray has been defeated, but a new challenger has arisen; ‘the consumer’. Blu-Ray is still struggling to win over the hearts, ears, and eyes of the movie viewing public. Blu-Ray players are still a bit expensive. With the struggling economy, most people just don’t have the financial security to invest in Blu-Ray
Wal-Mart is looking to change the “too expensive” mindset by offering a couple of Blu-Ray deals in the near future. Their biggest promotion will be taking place June 8-14, where they will offer a $100 gift card for every Blu-Ray player purchase. To go along with their gift card offering, Wal-Mart is going to have a large $15 Blu-Ray movie sale.
I recently made a PS3 purchase. I currently have one Blu-Ray movie (Casino Royale), and have Big Fish on order from Amazon. I was actually pretty amazed with the clarity of both the video and audio of Blu-Ray. Hopefully, sales like Wal-Mart is offering will help boost consumer confidence in hi-def movie viewing.
Have your say
