Storage Enhanced iPhone, iPod Touch

Apple has unveiled new versions of the iPhone and iPod Touch, both of which feature twice the amount of storage as their predecessors.

According to InformationWeek, “The new models come with the latest software enhancements, including a major one in the Google Maps application. Introduced in firmware update
1.1.3, the app now offers a GPS-like location and navigation capability.”

Pricing is as follows:

iPhone - 16 GB - $499

iPhone - 8 GB - $399

iPod Touch - 32 GB - $499

iPod Touch - 16 GB - $399

iPod Touch - 8 GB - $299

As PC World mentions, many people that bought the earlier versions of the iPhone and the iPod Touch feel slighted since they haven’t been out that long and they are already releasing new and improved versions.

It was bound to happen eventually. Who knew it would be so soon?
